    Don't like wrecking my shins. The pain puts me off the lift. I've tried manning up and pulling in shorts, but it's not worth it. Folks I've spoken to who deadlift regularly in shorts use vaseline on their shins, and I don't fancy that.

    It may not be ideal, but changing into trackies for deadlifts isn't a big effort.

    I wear shorts too, but my legs are so scarred up from football it doesn't really matter anyway. It's not for everyone, I've seen plenty of huge guys lifting far more than me or you in trackies.
