Hehe. I work on the FX desk of an investment bank. There's a reasonable chance (well probably around 1/20) that the currency you buy is based upon a price calculated by my team :p:

    Use a comparison site:
    http://www.comparetravelmoney.co.uk/

Edit: this site uses prices which are a few days old, but i'm sure you can find a better site yourself!

To get the cheapest rate sign up with Quidco which is a cashback site.
Then go through Quidco to Travelex and buy your euros at whatever the rate is.
Once you've bought them, email them and ask them to price match Thomas Exchange (or whoever else is cheaper)

    eg. as of now....
    £100 buys €112.83 at Travelex (1.1283)
You'll then get 70p cashback from Quidco.
Then pricematch with TE's rate of 1.14 and Travelex will refund you £1.02

    so... you'll get €112.83 for £98.28 which is a rate of 1.148

Maybe it's not worth the hassle for you, but when I did it I saved almost £15, plus Travelex are reputable and allow pickup at all airports unlike Thomas Exchange and the like.

ThomEx is only really good if you live close to the West End.
