your academic record seems above average on TSR, may I ask what school did you go to, was it selective private or grammar?
Thanks, and it's not that much above TSR average! :p:

I go to a very low standard, essentially non-selective small private grammar.

    Yourself?

I go to a low standard private, non-selective.

All grammar schools are selective though? Do you go to a private school or a grammar school, there can't be both. Also all grammar schools are good?
    Well, yes it is both!

It is a private school which is a grammar school - basically it was a grammar school but the government ceased to fund it when it refused to turn non-selective and at that time, all the parents of children there could afford it.

However, the years have turned into a much lower standard grammar school than it once was - as has privatisation.

I would say that private schools are good, as you asked, in that they seem to offer a much better educational experience than many comprehensives can offer. There are a lot of comprehensives that are better than my private school, but they're rare and are certainly not in my area! And state funded grammar schools seem to be the best, they are free to go to and still selective whilst maintaining some of that beautiful old school culture!

Unfortunately, these are rare too seeing as very few councils retained the old selective system.
