The Student Room Group

Current account - Student Account

I wondered whether anyone had, like me, worked full time for a few years before starting an MA or other PG degree and had gone from holding a normal current account for a worker to a student account either at the same or another bank? How happy are banks to do this? If you have an overdraft on the current account does that make a difference?

Any thoughts would be great.

Thank you!

hiya, I recently had a current plus account with natwest just converted back to student(my course doesn't start til sept 2005!) which is great stuff as no charges for overdraft. i don't think it makes any changes with regard to overdrafts. hope this helps. you can do it on the net if ur an existing customer which is what i did. do it NOW!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Natwest have just done that to me too! Do you know if it means we can't use switch anymore? I think the student accounts at natwest are solo only???
