Its weird that the average height for women is 5ft 4, yet at 5ft 2 I seem to be considered 'tiny'

It depends, young people tend to be taller than their parents who were taller than their parents, and so on. I think that's mostly down to better diet and healthcare.

This is a strange thread. Average height is not a matter of opinion.

I think avg. male height in the UK is 5 ft 8.

And avg. female height in the UK is 5 ft 3.

This applies to males and females above the ages of 16? (18 maybe) and below 65 (or possibly not).

Remember that older generations did not have such a refined diet and with the large number of older people in Western countries these 'average height' statistics will probably be slightly lower than if you looked at 'average height' in males/females who are 18-30.

There are also variations in avg. height across the UK - I'd say that it is certainly higher in West London than in say, the north-east of England or north Wales.

    squish.

5ft 8 isn't the average height of males in this country, only midgets think that. I'm 6ft and most people my age seem my height.

 very true I used to live in central London, an I felt I was short.
Then I moved to Brighton, and I feel so much taller compared to other people.

I joke with my family that it's because in London they put steriods in the water, or the pollution in the air, or something
