    Hey guys!
ok basically..ive applied for student finance this year and have received my financial notification which says..

    Tuition Fees: £3,225
    Maintenece Loan:£3,564

however, the total cost of my accommodation is £3,444.

Im just wondering how much of my maintenance loan im going to receive on my first installment as i have to pay £1,170.96 for accommodation on the 5th September..which is before my course starts would they wait until Ive got my loan or not?

also am i able to take out an overdraft at the start of September and what are the conditions surrounding this? like when would i have to pay it back?

thanks to any replies, im so confused! x

Pop over to your local authority place where you usually hand them in? They tend to have all the forms there

If you are a new student for 2009 it is nothing to do with LEAs any more.

Why didn't you apply for the maintenance grant when you put your original application in? Are you even eligible for it?

Had a meeting with a guy at the bank today about this crazy stuff :3 Your uni take your money at some set date. Whether it is before or after you receive your loan money i duno.

Upgrade your bank account to a student account when you can, its free, but to do it you need to have your certificate thing to say your uni has accepted you. After you show that to your advisor guy at the bank, they'll upgrade it.

You can have a non interest repayable overdraft of £500 to £3000 with some banks.

Regardless of if your uni charges you before or after you get the loan, with the student account u have some leeway with that.
