I hadn't realised that it existed until we phoned the accommodation people a few days ago and asked how room-mates are matched up. Did you receive an email from them asking you to accept a shared room? If so, then the questionnaire was attached to the email they sent after you replied saying you accept. It was questions like 'the room is for a) studying b) socialising or c) both' and whether you liked mainstream or alternative music etc. It also asked if you wanted to be put with someone on a similar course to you.

I never got an email back. Basically I said I'm still deciding, so they gave me an offer anyway.

I don't really care who I share with, as long as we're not polar opposites. Character building if nothing else, I suppose.

On the open day one of the cleaners told me that they tend to place boys on the ground floor in case someone breaks in!

I believe that is correct.

they usually do, although last year i was on the ground floor as were the two girls sharing the room next to mine (and when they swapped into other people's rooms as they didn't get on, i got another girl in that room)

dont worry though, we had two strapping young males in the first room on the corridor to protect us from any burgalars!
