So here I was, browsing the net and tweaking vistas services to make it run better when an email pops up titled "Receipt of Examination Results by Cardiff University".

Me being me interpreted this as them somehow already knowing my final A level results but alas no - it was just some advice on what to do on results day etc.

Well if a document that you thought was the results and wasn't nearly gave you a heart attack, then how are you going to cope when results day actually arrives?

Don't be so nervous and get a grip. It's only A-Levels. Take some deep breaths, pour yourself a glass of ice cold Coca-Cola and enjoy your youth.

N.B. That message is for a lot of TSR users, not just the OP.

Well at least for WJEC exams, there's no way any uni would know your results because we're still checking the papers.

lol, even if I was allowed to, it would be useless.

All we know are the raw marks. We don't know the UMS marks (or how their converted to UMS), which is what grade boundaries are based one.

And there'd be no chance of me going through god knows how many papers we have anyway lol, even if it was a close friend or something.

    Dear Michael

    BSC IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (N201)

Receipt of your examination results – What happens next?

First of all, please accept my congratulations on your conditional offer of a place at Cardiff University. We recognise that the period leading up to the release of examination results can be a stressful time for applicants and their families, and therefore my purpose in writing is to tell you how to obtain advice and guidance on what to do once you know your results.

Following the release of your results, you will be able to check the status of your application by using the UCAS on-line Applicant Enquiry Service(Track). You can access your individual record via the UCAS website, www.ucas.com, by using your application number and a unique password. This service will be available from Thursday 20 August 2009 and will be updated several times during the day.

From 3 August 2009, information about the following topics will be available on the University’s website www.cardiff.ac.uk. You will find the information by clicking on the item ‘Information for UCAS Applicants Receiving Results’ on the home page.

    - Do I need to take any action upon receipt of my results?
    - Alternative Programme Offers.
    - What do I do if my results have been delayed?
    - University contact details
    - How do I find out about Clearing opportunities at Cardiff?

You will receive information to help prepare for your arrival at Cardiff shortly after confirmation of your place. Information is also available at www.cardiff.ac.uk/welcometocardiff.

Please read the information carefully before contacting the University, as it will help to ensure that you contact the most appropriate person or department with your query.

If you are unable to access the Cardiff University website, you can email [email protected] or telephone +44 (0)29 20 879999.

Staff at Cardiff University work extremely hard at this time to make sure that you receive a decision on your application as soon as possible. I hope that the information provided will help you through this anxious time.

    Yours sincerely

    Lizanne Duckworth
    Head of Admissions
