ok guys based on the advice here and an assload of googling i have decided to do the following:

    English Language

It's a shame Law isn't that respected as I was quite curious about it
How much work is it? Is it worth doing as a 5th subject?

EDIT: Actually i haven't decided yet.

Which is considered "softer", History or English Language?
English Language is consider softer, most probably. Secondly i'm not sure about Media, unless you plan to drop that after AS, again ask your teachers before deciding fully.

Secondly it's pretty much advised never to take a fifth subject unless you are extremely clever or dedicated as you also do a fifth subject anyway that is usually compulsory - Critical Thinking/General Studies/Citizenship.

English Language or Literature? Well.. Literature is respected and would give you some vital skills, in order to prepare you for university
