Is it true that the WJEC A levels for chem and bio are more challenging/scientifically natured and contains less of 'how science works' relative to the other boards?

I'm trying to decide between sixth forms and one offers bio and chem with WJEC while the other offers OCR Bio (not SNAB) and Edexcel Chemistry.

I'm really keen on having a scientific and theory based course as opposed to one which contained a lot of 'how science works' like my GCSEs did.

    Any insight is helpful

WJEC's English exam markers suck, one of my papers went up from a D to a high B. Also during my A2 year the entire year got bumped up a grade for their unit 4 exams because of how many papers were marked incorrectly..Don't know if it's the same for Maths or Chemistry though, I went with Edexcel on that.
