If you acted as much of a **** on the date as you sound on here.. I doubt you'll need to bother letting her down as she probably hated every second of being with you anyway.

    *sigh*

Just tell her that she's nice, but you don't see it working out, especially as you're going away in 6 weeks.

Why does it matter if she thinks you're a ****? If you're going away, then it's not really going to affect you that much even if she does.

Find out why she likes you and stop it. If you're funny, don't be. If you're confident, start crying in front of her cause you think you're ugly.

If all else fails tell her you're very insecure about your 2 inch penis. Never fails.

It's what we humans call respect and kindness. Just because you're not going to see her gives you no right to be a tool to her.

A mate of mine told his girlfriend he was going to Hong Kong for two weeks.

He stayed there for three months and didn't contact her once. She thought he was dead.

Not really a sensible option for you, but it was effective and one of the funniest stories I ever heard.

Just tell her the truth. It's obvious when people are making an excuse and bloody annoying.

I was in the same position as you a couple of weeks ago. I just told the girl I wasn't looking for anything serious, just a bit of fun over the summer ... she seems happy with that. She wants to go to uni single too.

"I don't think this will work, I'm going away in a few weeks and trying to keep it going long distance wouldn't be fair on you"

And she'd promptly leave you because she'd assume you're bent?
