Social networking sites and their effect on young people? watch

    • Thread Starter

Hey, just wondering why the above question is such an important topic for society?
    Thanks alot

    Here are a few ideas:

It is important because of the number of people who are registered on them. Look at the advantages and disadvantages. It means that people are able to communicate more freely, but can also result in privacy concerns; all the information contained on these sites is in the public domain. There was a case recently that the wife of the new Head of MI6 had released information on Facebook. This could lead in to a discussion about national security. Also consider the potential dangers of these sites for young children, potentially amid concerns about internet safety. It can also result in isolation because more information is being created and shared electronically. This can disadvantage people who are not familiar with computers or do not have access to them.

Hope this gives you a few quick ideas. If you need more help, do post again
