    Hello,
I'm applying for physics, and want to see what other people think of what my chances are. I'll be applying to 5 of the 7 uni's, not made up my mind yet.

    On to the grades.
    GCSE's- A*A*AAAABBBB
    AS-levels-estimated AAAAB (B in economics)

    Maths- Stats 1- A(91/100)
    Physics- Unit 1- A(108/120) and C/W- A(80% raw)
    Chemsitry- Unit 1- A(90/100) and C/W- 92% raw
I'm dropping economics at the end of this year.
My teachers have said I'll most definetely be estimated at A2 AAAA for maths, further maths, chem and phys.
Also taking extended project next year, and I'll be basing it on elastic collisions in 2 dimensions, and possibly something to do with particle accelerators.

In terms of EC's. im currently working for 6 weeks at unipart automotive engineering, where i am involved with the team that works alongside bentley, land rover and aston martin. I'm also getting a "Gold crest" award for this.

There's nothing wrong with your grades, and I'm sure you know that as well as I do. We can't say if you'll be accepted or not (especially at places that interview), but you won't be if you don't apply. Either way, aim high, your grades are good enough for any of them.

You need to know everything there is to know about string theory to be accepted at university level. Sorry...

It'll come down to your personal statement and reference basically. Your grades are good enough for most universities.

Your GCSE's are a bit poor for somewhere like Oxford I presume , and to estimate what your going to get for AS level is pretty ridiculos if you ask me. Why won't you be predicted any A*'s at A-level?

Just Cambridge. And they won't discriminate against people who aren't predicted an A*.

only cambridge ask for A*AA, and as for my predictions, i think i'm likely to get an A* in physics and maths, but my teachers dont know much about it and don't really use it. My econ. teacher does, but i'm dropping that.

there's nothing wrong with predictions, since they are based on my performance in classroom and mock/sample papers.
