Progesterone Only Pill - Break through bleeding

Anyone here on Noriday as a contraceptive pill? If so have you had break through blleeding and how long did it last.........I've been on it for about 2 and a half years and because of another issue I didn't have any periods at all..............since January I have lost weight and my break though bleeding has kicked it.........should I expect it to go away? Its not major bleeding - can cope with just a pantyliner, no need for tampons or towels..........

but its just so frustrating.........can have abit of bleeding for a day or two, then a couple of days fine, then a day of bleeding, then a couple of more days of fine - I just find it annoying that I can't guarantee when its gonna happen. Get a little bit of cramp but nothing to shout about...........

If its happening on a regular basis, maybe you should go to the doctor about it? Its also strange that you have been on it for a few years and you are still getting break through bleeding.

well you see I have Polycystic ovary syndrome which has kind of complicated it abit - basically my consultant at the hospital thinks that my PCOS masked the usual side effects e.g. break through bleeding.......especially as I was overweight (they think its the primary cause of my PCOS). But now I'm loosing weight they think it isn't masking it, hence why I'm just starting to get it.......

I'm kinda sceptical about switching because the bleeding isn't that heavy........definitely copeable...........and I'm not sure wether its worth switching as I could end up with a brand which gives me worse bleeding than I currently have......

Well, i think you should go to your doctor and have a chat and see what they think. Most people have to chnage pills at least once, before they find the one for them

haha - don't worry, it's our flavour of the moment. It's what you use to catch blood instead of tampons and towels that [let's face it] aren't very good for you or landfill.
