You don't need to run the bleep test to train - you need to get out and run to train - the bleep test is a test and nothing else.
You do know it is now 'proper' press ups for girls don't you?

For those of you enquiring about RAF Fitness Requirements, this link may be of use:

    http://www.hmforces.co.uk/content/RAF_Basic_Training

Pro, it says on that link that sit-ups need to be performed in 2 minutes, not the 1 minute that I thought, is that correct?

I dunno - but if you can't bang out enough sit ups to pass the test in 1 minute, you deserve to be slapped!

    Thank you.

Firstly, the PRTC must have been very quiet with all these cutbacks and what not. What trade are you going for? when did you first apply?

Can you please say what the fitness test was like
    1. How many? press ups, sit ups, burpees etc to pass.

    - if you have time, tell us a story in full detail, as you would be the first to tell us what the "new course" is like. Much appreciated.

Secondly, I didn't think they did PRTC at the weekend as it is normally thursday and friday.

Get fit. Then get a bit fitter. Running, press ups and sit ups are the order of the day. Do them.

As for wanting chapter and verse - stop worrying and concentrate on your own application. You can't change what happens there and fitness and a good attitude are the most important things to prepare. Some things are better if you just do them rather than fret about them.

Good Morning, PRTC last week (14/15 Jan 2010) was the first one with the new fitness assessment standard.

13 Personnel "Did not achieve the required standard" and were removed from the PRTC course. They were given a brief on how to improve their personal fitness and were also briefed by the AFCO staff present, that they would not be able to reapply for the RAF for a further 6 months.

To that end, if you are attending PRTC soon, you had better make sure you are able to pass the Multi Stage Fitness test or you will not be joining the RAF.

PRTC Levels to be achieved are as follows:

    Males

    Age 16-29

    MSFT - 8.6

    Press Ups - 4

    Sit Ups - 7

    Age 30-34

    MSFT - 8.0

    Press Ups - 4

    Sit Ups - 6

    Females

    Age 16-29

    MSFT - 6.1

    Press Ups - 2

    Sit Ups - 6

    Age 30-34

    MSFT - 5.7

    Press Ups - 2

    Sit Ups - 6

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Good Luck and see you soon

At this rate I'm not going to be in the RAF for over 2 years... As long as I don't get some crippling injury during that time I think I'll be fine! And even then I bet I could manage those numbers..
