Ok so my mates parents are getting divorce and hes going to live with his mum and doesnt want to move so basially he wants to know who gets the house, heres the timeline:

    1984: dad buys house
1988: marries mum (no alteration was made to documents)
    1989: has him

Family Law varies between different parts of the UK. So, it would help to know which part of the UK you are in so that the right legal system can be applied to the circumstances you have given.

Also, who ever eventually tries to help you will probably need more details than that.

I know almost nothing about English law, so I'll leave it to someone who does to answer your question.
