i'm pretty cash-strapped but i've recently started becoming more conscious of what i wear, and i realise i don't have a well-fitting t-shirt or something that doesn't have some ****** mass-produced slogan on it. i'd also like to buy a nice semi-smart jacket that i can just pop on for any occasion. but got no money.
i really just don't know where to start looking. so, if anyone knows of any shops in good parts of london, please let me know.

a) Not mass produced and
b) A charity shop
OP: I think there's an Oxfam somewhere in Hackney that's supposed to be the place to go for "trendy" clothes, at least that's where I've heard people going. Not sure where, but just try the Oxfam website and see how many there are in that area (i.e. Hackney, Shoreditch etc). I wouldn't advise Camden. I stumbled into one there recently and it was full of utter rubbish.
Alternatively, try ASOS' own brand clothes. They're really cheap and the best own brand range of clothing I've ever seen.

To be honest I would say that its worth looking in as many charity shops as possible so long as you don't mind rummaging lol. Its amazing what you can find, I'm sorry I cant recommend any specific shops but in my experience it doesn't really matter.
