    I felt like being a bit more independent and earning my own money but everytime i mention geting a job my dad persuades me not too! he even refilled by bank account just so i don't work! i can't understand why he doesn't want me to work...anyone else been through same thing...i just find it a bit weird really

    How old are you? Maybe he doesn't want it to affect your studies?

    ah my dad was like that too, but i got a job anyway lol
    maybe he's afraid of the fact that you dont need to be dependent on him anymore? or maybe he thinks it'll distract you from school work, that was my dad's excuse

    This, exactly.
    My dad never wanted me to work, he liked providing everything for me as if I was his little princess .. I guess we never grow up in our parents' eyes, but they need to let go and accept it. I have a job now, my mom's not complaining :]
