I think the Southampton uni is the only university in UK offering the course "Acoustic engineer" according to UCAS Course Search. Though I'm neither going to Southampton uni nor studying something related to sound( I am a maths student), but I personally have a great interest towards HIFI (I've been collecting headphones for over 1 year) and I am really looking forward to get to know some people who choose to study such a cool subject! Are there any such cool students here? What areas do you mainly work on? And, by any chanese, are you an audiophiles as well?

Not actually doing it currently, but I went to an open day at Southampton yesterday to look at that course, it's fascinating, really well run and so unique! I'll definitely be applying there now for next year :yep:

Salford's quite well known for their Acoustics course from what I've been able to gather. I'm either applying for that or Audio Engineering there, they share most modules but the acoustic engineering is more focused on environmental and architectural acoustics, rather than music/sound. They're also a bit more open-minded with alternative qualifications for their entry requirements, Southampton looks ace but I've done a Btec Nat Diploma in Music Tech which is a no go for them, so all my hope's going to Salford.
