Hey, First of all I want to congratulate everyone not only for passing and getting into UWE but for making a fantastic choice, this is a really great University to study at. I am a current First year Student but by the time you all arrive I will be a second year. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you all about the Royal College of Nursing. If you join anything during the freshers fair in September make sure its this, I will try my best to be involved in the RCN's events at the fair this year. The Royal College of Nursing gives members support with their practice placement during the three years and can give you helpful advice if you are finding it particuarly difficult. There is also the chance to get hold of over 700 full journal texts online as well as really helpful resources published by the college. Now just a little about my role within the RCN. I am one of three current Student Information Officers at the University of the West of England. My role is to provide new and current students with vital information from the RCN as well as being your first line of contact with the RCN. I would like to finish by wishing you the best of luck over the next few months and hope to see you all in september. I have included my email address below for those who wish to know more about the RCN or my role. You may also be interested in a dedicated UWE/RCN Group I have started on facebook which is updated regularly on RCN updates and National/regional Nursing updates. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/gr...3969633&ref=ts
