So I've been looking on Gumtree for some kind of work to keep me occupied over the summer, and I've seen quite a few advertisements for delivering and collecting catalogues, betterware etc and all of the adverts said it was only for a few hours a week, over the summer if necessary. It seemed like an alright way to earn a bit, anyone have any experience of doing this? My mum said the amount you earn depends on how much you sell,I don't know how true this is

That's right; you're acting as a salesman for their company.. pay is based solely on commission, which is why these 'jobs' are so easy to come by. They'll provide you with catalogues to distribute, and you'll gain a percentage of all orders in your selling area. Not everyone's cup of tea & it could be repetitive and tedious.
