    Hi guys,

I started a new Job Seekers Allowance claim on Monday because i'm currently working, but the hours are low!

I got a form from the job centre in the post today, and it's a declaration of pay form. I sign on on Monday, and have to fill it in for then.

The only problem is i have to fill in my Gross Pay. But then i also have to fill in any deducations such as income tax, national insurance etc... and also my Net Pay.

Thing is i have no idea about the deductions or Net pay yet. I haven't had my first pay slip, so i have no idea how much gets taken off!

My gross pay for benefit week 1 is £0 because i didn't work that week.

My gross pay for benefit week 2 is £14.31 because i did 3 hours (i get paid £4.77 an hour).

Would i have any deductions such as Income Tax and National Insurance on those wages?

It seems you are likely to be below the personal allowance, so no tax: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/rates/it.htm

National insurance is slightly different and I don't know enough about it, but it seems like you're well below anything there: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/rates/nic.htm

    So again, no deduction.
