    Right. Two things.

    1) Some of my songs, even ones that have been played on iTunes before, will not play through iTunes. They are in mp3 format but just won't play. Suggestions?

    2) I love to have my iTunes all nicely organised into albums, artists etc. But some albums will not all sit nicely together and say tracks 1 and 2 off an album will be seperate from the rest. Suggestions for that, too?

    Rep on offer. Naturally.

I don't think my iPod would approve. Let's assume I like iTunes.

I have no idea about the first question. Like the other poster said, use another media player on you computer like VLC.

For the second question, are you sure that the album and artist are named correctly with no difference in spelling etc.
I've noticed that this can mean that iTunes can create a seperate album thinking it's a different - when it's not.

Another media player is useless if I want to use my iPod.

    And that's the point - I've tried that. It's ridiculous. I shouldn't have ****** about with it -.-

Hmmm....... I'll have a think- but the question in my head is 'what the hell did you do with it!?'

I've learned my lesson not to mess with iTunes- bad things happen.

the second thing really pissed me off too. You have to make every variable in the "get info" settings exactly the same for every song on the album to be sure. random songs being labelled as "part of a compilation", not being labelled as "disc 1 of 1", not being categorised as a music files, tiny variations in the name (eg a letter being upper case, even something like of and Of) seemed to be the biggest culprits for me.

I had my music collection in 3 different folders. Rips, downloads and transfers. So I just wiped my music collection. Sorted it into albums artists etc then added it all to iTunes. It ****** it all up. But I'm getting there. I think. Converting them to AAC works. But only some will do that (even off the same frigging album!?). Sigh. **** you apple.

I have found that if you go on "Get Info" then go to "Sorting" typing either an artist/album/album artist in to one (or all) of those does the trick. Hasn't failed me yet. But you are right. iTunes fails in that respect.
