I've got tonsillitis at the moment =/
My medication finishes Wednesday and i was planning to go out that night..
If i drink will it undo what the medication has done?
Also a certain someone is getting impatient... when will it be okay to kiss again?

It probably won't undo what to meds have done, but certain antibiotics react quite strongly with alcohol. Best to keep drinking moderate for the first week or so after finishing your course just to be on the safe side.

Drinking the day you finish your course of medication (i.e the same day you take your last tablet) with affect the effectiveness of the penicillin, as alcohol can sometimes stop it from working (as far as I am aware) for that day only. Drug and alcohol interactions can also cause nausea, that's why it's often discouraged. It shouldn't affect the course you have taken before then, as you would have already metabolised the drug that was in your body.

And you will probably find that you're better even before you've finished the course of tablets (but it is important to finish the whole course!) so as soon as you're symptom free, I'd say it's safe to kiss again without the worry of passing on infection.

I think you'd be fine to drink on Wednesday, providing the infection has cleared up, and if it's a good 3-4 horus or so between taking your last tablet and consuming alcohol, I imagine the level of drug-alcohol interactions would be negligible.

There's no contraindication between penicillin and alcohol. Metronizadole is the only antibiotic that you can't drink on.

It won't undo the effect of the medication, however you may experience slight nausea or stomach upset that is usual with most antibiotics.
