That was from someone else's PS, on the Internet. Use that in your PS and it's plagarism, no?
Copying from one person is plagiarism, to steal from many is research

Some of the TSR PS's are complete jokes. I found reading other PS's wasn't particularly helpful when it came to writing my own anyway, as the only thing they can really help with is structure.
    I just went for:
    1st paragraph - Why medicine
    2nd and 3rd paragraph - Work experience
4th paragraph - Extracurrics and hobbies

Then i just made sure i related everything back to why it made me suited for medicine. No BS or cheesiness, just honesty.

Like I said in the OP, no offence is intended, I'm just saying that some of the examples are a bit cheesy and could be improved IMO.
Who gives a flying ****? Whoever wrote them got into medical school! It's not designed to win an essay writing competition!

To be honest... no one knows exactly what the admissions people are looking for, so to say one is good or bad is subjective, well written, concise, something that actually makes sense etc etc.

I was getting to it, but iv yet to find the good one i remember from last year, so instead i scored the recent PS which have been added to tsr.

    30 - 4/5
    32 - 4/5
    34 - 2.5/5
    35 - 3/5
    36 - 3.5/5
    37 - 2.5/5
    38 - 2/5
    39 - 3.75/5
    40 - 2/5
    41 - 3.75/5
    42 - 3.5/5
    43 - 3.5/5

I rated those personal statements based on the following criteria

    1. Realistic desire for medicine
    2. Realistic view of the medical profession
    3. Interpersonal skills
    4. Team work skills and communication skills
    5. Leadership skills
    6. School Participation
    7. Extra Curricular activities/ non academic interests.

    Points 1+2 = 1 point
    6+7 = 1 point
    Others 1 point.

if you have any rate requests, link me the PS.

Are you sure they were all from successful applicants? I remember reading one that was ridiculously poor. Didn't mention "why medicine" until final paragraph. Poor grammar. Talked too much about irrelevant things.

Well that's not entirely true. Some of us on TSR are medical admissions people, and hand out advice when appropriate.

Ah I thought of including that, obviously cant fault advice from actual admissions people, didn't imagine anyone on the TSR are admissions staff, thanks for telling me though.

There are lots of people here that are involved with selecting candidates in one way or another.
