the only one I really believe in is the JFK assassination

just because the official government story is clearly complete BS

You can't jsut ask if people believe in conspiracy theories, as it's generally just a blanket term for crazy paranoid views that disagree with the government. There are so many, and some are more plausible than others.

I also believe that some people might also take advantage of the fact that an opinion suddenly loses all mainstream credibility once it's been labelled as a "conspiracy theory". (though maybe that's crazy and paranoid in itself )

I think there's more behind it than people seem to believe. Although the David Icke proposition that the world's leaders are reptillians doesn't really strike me as being that truthful tbh.

I think most are too bizarre and wacky to be very likely. But I'm sure some stuff is covered up. For example I'm sure there was some cover-up involved with 11/9, but it's most likely the US government hiding the fact that they could have stopped the attacks but failed to do so. I'm quite sure they didn't plan the attacks or anything like that.

A lot of conspiracy theories are funny, like not landing on the moon and 9/11. I'm sure there are a few cover ups, but when people claim stupid stuff like a plane didn't hit the pentagon, I lose all respect.

David Icke is a good source of entertainment.

they all fall down in that they vastly overestimate the competence of the government.

Indeed, which is why I think most cover ups are covering up the government's stupidity rather than a clever plan.

Well, the government definitely keeps secrets. But who knows? I doubt they're as crazy as conspiracy theorists put them out to be.

NWO isn't a conspiracy. It's pretty much fact now.

The Pope has (July 7th 2009) released an encyclical letter - which is the highest form of papal writing - for a new 'world political authority'

July 10th - Russian President (G8 summit) shows a sample coin of a new global reserve currency.

July 13th (15th N.A.M summit) the chairman of the N.A.M. (Ahmed Abul Gheit) made an appeal to establish a New World Order.

I find most of them laughable because it requires the competency of too many people to make them work - especially the ones that involve governments.

This, not to mention Occam's razor.

When I hear someone suggesting a conspiracy theory, I tend to write off their judgement as unreliable.
