@ Roberto_Ferrari: I never said conspiracy, what I implied was racial profiling, not to mention that we are at conflict. Or are you just too stupid to see a possible link?

@ Lefty Leo: Thanks, but I'm not after acting.

@ Stainluss: Maybe, I doubt anyone will finance that, or any movie that works for the benefit of any islamic values, not to mention no one viewing it or thinking of it in any credible manner.

look, it has nothing to do with them being jewish etc, its all to do with how good the script is, if they reject it ask why and improve!

but get it out of your head that just cz they are jewish and you are muslim they are not going to accept you or whatever!!

i am a muslim (not the most religious) but i am one, and i have tons of jewish freinds and friends from other cultures and etc and non of them have stopped talking me just cz im muslim!

As the title states, would I ever make it in Hollywood as an Arab? Basicly, I'm a Bahraini Muslim who has a great passion for movies and thinks and has been told to have a talent for it. Basicly, I want to write and direct movies in Hollywood as opposed to doing it locally, because movies and TV shows here just SUCK; and I despise the whole thing.

Anyways, I have around 17 script ideas, some not fully developed but I have at least 6 of them that I know would definetly come to be something; but that doesn't worry me for the time being, I know the risks of no success in the business because some movies never make the theatres, but is dealt with from another angle. But the thing is, my parents want me to study business or accounting, which I had originally set to do, but I realized that it wasn't at all what I wanted.

The thing is, I'm scared about not getting my scripts or me directing the movie in Hollywood. I'm going to speak frankly, which may result in your anger; but I am often told and assured, that many of the companies and the people who finance the movies or work in making them, are Jewish people; in Hollywood. This leads to the assumption that no one will buy my scripts or hire me to be a director, despite any future studies or majors in filmmaking and so on. This, eventually, leads me to question my decision about studying Film & Theatre.

My question is, despite any future shortcomings about my movies or if I become a good movie director/writer, do you think that there are actually many Jewish people in Hollywood, most of which, if not all, will not grant me any finance for my movies or buy my scripts and whatnot, despite the quality of the script and my work; and yes, I thought about how they don't want muslims spreading their theories in Hollywood, but I already decided upon myself that when I do my movies, I will market it in a way to make it viewable by the global and American audience; which I do by not including Islamic views and values [nothing apparent, that would definetly be classified as islamic] or basing my script on Christian characters and based on the culture of Americans and other popular societies such as the British.

Now, do you KNOW or THINK that I'll ever make it there as a movie director/writer, for the simple fact that I'm an Arab muslim? Or is the world more global now, where I do not have the risk of this indecency?

Any comment, advice, answer or general feedback is welcome; I am very torn by this dilemma which can result in the reality of me not reaching for the dreams of which I have so passionately fended off my parents' conflict of interest to pursue.
Grow up and stop the vile anti-semetic claptrap, as well as the belief Muslims and Arabs are always the victim. You have more of a chance as a Muslim actor in Hollywood than a Jew would in most professions in Bahrain. Chances are you are a talentless little ***** anyway.

@ Foxo: You don't get it, 95% of all TV shows here are drama, where EVERYTHING THAT CAN GO WRONG HAS, the lack of camera angles coordination, the overblown drama, the same dilemmas shared in all the shows, the same acting dimension; the concentration on Egyptian accents over the other arabic ones, and much more to cry about. I'm quite the movie fanatic, and my knowledge of foreign cultures is all but feeble.
Sorry, thought you were talking about British TV. :p:

Your prejudice about the Jews and Hollywood is what will hold you back, not your ethnicity.
First, grow up. Then, try for Hollywood

Jews and Muslims are not at conflict (or at least not in the Western World) Yes there is conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians as well as between the Israelis and Arabs however most Jews, are sensible and open minded enough not to discriminate and hold prejudice, unlike yourself.

There's lots of risks. Millions of people try for fame in Hollywood every year: actors, writers, directors etc. Only a few hundred ever become famous. Tbh anyones chances of "making it" are very slim and whether you're an Arab or not has nothing to do with it.
Good luck though and remember if you go in with an attitude that "Jews own Hollywood" you won't get very far you'll just be disregarded as an ignorant, prejudiced fool who knows nothing about the business.

If you have the talent, they won't care what race/ethnicity/religion blah blah blah you are. Hollywood is a business, all they care about is the money. If you can make them that, they won't give a ****.

I guess with all the female actors wearing burkas you wouldn't need a large budget for talent. Hell, just get some Mexicans to play them.

    Oh, don't be so ridiculous!
This whole "oh, the Jews control the media and the banks and America and the world!" theory is about as stupid as anyone who would believe it. No, there isn't an international Jewish conspiracy to control the media, no, this is no mindset by which Jews reject all muslims and arabs in everything.

I'm not going to claim that there are no Jews who would have issues with a Muslim Bahraini for either religious, political or personal reasons because that would be silly. Within every religious, ethnic and national group there are individuals with individual opinions which do not match the majority view, but this should not result in branding the entire community.

The only reason why it may be an issue is if your films do not tie in with Western/American values and interests as no matter how good your films may be, they will be aimed at an American audience and so will have to appeal. But this has nothing to do with "The Jews." This is just business.

I find it difficult to believe that you do not believe this "Jewish problem" yourself as you've said in a later post, because otherwise you would not have listed the only poll option voting for this being no problem involving the phrase "no longer a problem", implying that if ever was one?
