    Hey everyone,

I'm starting with Genetics in September and I wonder how dense a normal timetable is. Is it like packed with lectures from 9am to 6pm or are there sometimes no lectures at all? :woo:

According to this, classes can even end at 8.20pm which would be a little late because dinner at Pollock Halls is only served until 7:30pm, right?

I do biology as well, and in my first year, the latest I'd have to be at uni was till 5 pm. The same in second year. You'll have 16-20 contact hours a week (incl. lectures, tutorials and practicals) so the days won't be packed, and during the past couple of years I've had completely free days (but only once a week, and mostly a Wednesday). There are a couple of courses that bio students sometimes take as outside courses that have lectures starting at 6 in George Square.

Thanks for the link, I tried to create my own timetable but its not as leisurely as elisabethbridge said. Check this out:

What does 1/5 and 1/2 mean at the ODL courses?

Means pick 1 out of 5 and 1 out of 2.

    This should clear it up.
