I dd the 1st paper and then the pain was to bad ...because i have done 2/3 of the exam because i have done cwk and 1 paper then the college are gonna apply for a grade based on all that ....or i might just have to do the unit in jhanuary.

does anyone now how likely is it that they will give me a grade

thanks

Oh no! I hope you're feeling better soon. I can't really help you, but I think that they will probably base your grade on coursework and teacher assessment. I wish you all the best though, it sounds horrible, and I hope you get some good grades.
Aww, poor you! :frown: Hope you recover quickly. At least it was your last exam, so it didn't affect all the others. According to one of my teachers, they only gice you a grade based on coursework and teacher assessment if you're in Year 13 because you don't have the chance to resit. You could apply for special consideration, but you'll need to get a letter from your doctor and make sure the exam board gets it within a week. You have your coursework to pull you up, and hopefully they'll take your predicted grade into account when trying to work out what you would have got if you hadn't been injured. If not, it looks like you'll just have to resit in January.

It should be a resit in january, which, shouldn't be classed as a resit, allowing you to resit a third time. Though you can do that anyway............so either way you should be fine! Hope you feel better soon!

I hope you're okay...I crashed my car a few weeks ago so I know what kind of pain you can be in afterwards...I was in so much shock afterwards I could hardly string a setence togehter nevermind sit an exam, so good on you.

I don't know how likely it would be for them to give you a grade now, but I think if you write to them they will at very least mark your first paper sympathetically (sp?). And they'll probably look at your situation more kindly considering you showed up and made the effort.

Good luck getting it sorted, hope you feel better soon

Take it easy, have a rest, you're probably still in a bit of shock.
Couldn't the board write to you or something, not exactly fair if you have to wait until August, not knowing how you're going to be marked. Good luck anyway

Unfortunately I think you will have to wait until results day to find out whether you've been given special consideration or not.

as your still doin AS its likely that they'll make you sit it in january insted. they only really take it into account if its your final year, and you need the grade e.g. for uni. my friend fainted in her geography exam n cut her chin open n had 2 b taken 2 hospital, n they made her resit in january. soz

do you think the decisions are based on the pupil
for example, if the pupil is doing well and would of got an a in the exam then they will be more considerate as opposed to someone who has been getting u's.
I really dont know how it works but just hoping for a mark. Dont really wanna be doing an as in january because my college already does some of the a2's in january.

Have you contacted the school/exam board? Maybe you could ring them up.

I think they look at your predicted grade when trying to work out what you would have got, and they have your coursework to consider as well, so if you got As for those, they might give you an A in the exam you did as well. I don't think they'll be able to give you a grade for the paper you didn't sit though as you're only Year 12, so you probably will have to resit that unit.
