I was so put off by the people I saw. They just arent the people I'd make friends with!!

    Anyone else??

What do you do in such a situation?

You can hardly judge them by a very small picture. Try adding them and getting to know them?

Remain friendless with my strange sense of pride sourced from my imaginary ego.

Not at all, after all you can't judge how someones personality will be from a picture, just because someones interests or dress style is different from yours, doesn't mean you won't get on, that is unless you'd be unwilling to meet and get to know people from different backgrounds and life styles.

    LOL.

Just hope that the best people are too busy having summer fun to join the facebook group.

Nah, actually I found quite the opposite, they all look pretty cool except one or two who are a bit too goody-goody/snobby looking, but I don't know them yet, it's just speculation.

Nope. I've not really bothered looking, but those I've seen, all seem to be really cool people.

I wouldn't let Facebook determine how your uni life is going to be. Facebook is a virtual online world which doesn't necessarily dictate how people are going to be like in real life. Just because someone has thousands of photos of them in drunken positions doesn't make them any more social than someone with a single profile photo. Someone using text speak isn't any cooler than someone who spells correctly, and likewise someone who spells correctly isn't a goody-goody/super-clever/boring person either. Refrain from making any judgement until you meet your colleagues in real life

Nope, they are a great bunch of people, but the we are a really social group already.

Had 3 meetups so far, another 2 planned before we get to uni, has been great, found some housemates, got a flat all through the miracle of facebook.

Wish I had had facebook the first time round!
