Is David Cameron to the very left of the Tory paty? watch

I don't think he really knows where he is tbh. It's well-known that during the Major Premiership he was advocating quite Thatcherite economics.

He has absolutely no position other than what looks good. This is clear with the Tories jumping on the 'O-bandwagon' with the 'Change' slogans. I give it 4 months before it becomes 'Yes We Can'.

    Let's be honest now...

The black biro on my desk could beat Gordon Brown in the next election.

    Not really.

From my perspective (and that of other people), he is a pragmatic centrist.

He will take positions of the right and of the minor left on occasion.

    For example:

Right-wing : Reducing public expenditure (spot on Dave, spot on)
Left-wing : maintaining health and education spending.

So yes, on occasion he is to the left. But he is no Socialist!

He is a Conservative changed by the times we live in.

There's a lot of Conservative folk to the right of him, that's for sure...
