I've got my driving test soon, and was wondering if anyone had any advice about how to the the square corner reverse. It's the manoeuvre that I just can't do! I always end up either going too wide, and then going too close too the kerb when I try to rectify...and in my latest lesson the car didn't even finish up parallel to the pavement! :banghead:
    Any tips?

Take it slow and try and get out and do some practice in another car. If you're not insured on a car yet maybe find an empty car park with a parent early one morning and practice lots. Start with trying to do it over white lines so it doesnt matter if you go over and them and then move on to something solid. Keep at it until you get it

turn your wheel quick, its easier to cross your arms over really but you can't do that when you're learning. If all else fails if you come to do it on your test, you're best off to go a bit wide and risk getting a minor rather than back over the kerb and fail

It sounds like you're not giving the steering enough "welly". If the corner is truly square, you should use full lock and apply it quickly. I'll assume you've already got the timing of the steering sorted.

If you're still wide after applying the lock quickly and on time, then your reversing speed is too fast.

If you bump the kerb after "straightening up" then you're not judging what straight is. Your car body as seen in the nearside door mirror must be parallel to the kerb. Not converging, not diverging... exactly parallel.

    STFU and learn to drive.

Also just treat it like a bay park, also use your near side mirror alot.
