    Hi,

I am planning a trip for my 22nd birthday to Amsterdam from the 8th-11th September (could be slightly flexible with the dates, but must include the 9th which is my birthday, and not wanting to go for more than 4 nights).

I have pretty much got the flights sorted, but now I need accommodation for 5 with at least 2 rooms, preferably 3 (a couple in one, and the other 3 in another or two separate rooms).

I am not so bothered about posh hotels, or wanting to stay in a super cheap hostel. I would prefer a rental apartment or, most preferably, a houseboat so that we have a kitchen and so on for making breakfast and packed lunches and its a little more private than a hotel room.

Normally I would use tripadvisor, and search their apartments section, but there doesn't seem to be one for Amsterdam so I am a bit lost.

So yes, any recommendations of places you have stayed before that fulfil the criteria. Any good companies or websites I can check out, any suggestions would be fantastic, from what accommodation I should choose, to where it is best to be located etc.

    Thanks!

    Lemily

No idea about your price range, though.

That one only sleeps 4 people I'm afraid. I saw it earlier.

Price is not too much of an issue. Hoping to keep it under £150 per person or £50pppn, which gives an overall budget of £750, or approx 870 euro. However, if it was super nice, and in a perfect location, then I wouldn't mind paying more.

The Winston is cool...it's a hostel-hotel and it's brilliant. Artists from all over Europe decorate the 'art rooms', ours were amazing! Cheap too! It's right between Dam Square and Centraal Station, just google The Winston Amsterdam. Also, it wasn't very loud which is a plus and we enjoyed it. (:

    http://www.amsterdam.info/houseboats/cecilia/ This fits 5 people.
250 Euros per night for 5 people. Not that clued up on converting the pound to euro, so still not sure whether that price is alright for you.

This site's good, and seems pretty cheap, whilst maintaining quality.

I stayed in a houseboat when I visited Amsterdam. Good experience

Unfortunately they don't have a double room available for the 3 days we want, and I kinda want to share a bed with my boyfriend. It does look cool though!

Aww no ): It's right in the middle though! The street's called something like Waeommstraat, you should look for something there cus it's pretty much central to the tourist area. Goodluck anyways. (:

Try getting a hotel near the Amstel river/the Amstel area in general. Near rembrandt square is ideal. Everyone goes for dam square, but i really think rembrandt square is better. Red light district infront of you. Canal next to you, loads of coffee shops. Dam square is 5 mins away. All the shopping is 5 mins walk up the road. Loads of clubs and bars at night too.

Try getting a weekend in to your trip (even if its a Friday). You'll enjoy it if you want to go out at night etc.

Really expensive but the Europe hotel is amazing. http://www.leurope.nl/ and look at pics here http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl...=Hotel+de+L%27.

I just took a quick look at prices, seems like they may be waaay out of your range though.

I tried booking a house boat, but couldn't get one in time.. was a last minute trip.

The place is great though - you are gonna love it.
