teenage riot is an awesome song! 2nd favourite off the album Daydream nation, my favourite being Cross the Breeze.

OP,I don't really know how to answer this question as I'm never really sure what indie is (in the sense I'm not sure how you class bands or music as indie).

NOOOO!! Are you sure you don't mean 'catchiest indie-esque songs played all the time on radio'? Cos if so, fair enough. But just no! I could understand throwing in one of them to a wider list cos you really like the song but you should really expand your knowledge of indie music. Not just the mainstream hits of the last few years but the better, less overplayed stuff. Not saying that there's anything wrong with the mainstream stuff butthere's plenty better - Sex on Fire might be a massive song but have you heard any of their earlier stuff? Or get out some of the Brit classics!

Indie is an embarrasment to the male race. Indie should be destroyed. Indie boys have no man characteristics in them and might as well be called homosexual. End of.

The Smiths - This Charming Man/ Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now
The Strokes - Hard to Explain
Doves - Black & White Town
The Envy Corps - Story Problem
King of Leon - King of the Rodeo
Born Ruffians - Kurt Vonnegut
Bloc Party - Little Thoughts/ Pioneers
Gomez - Catch Me Up
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps

They're my personal favourites but it depends on what you define as Indie. It is hard to define Indie and I'm sure some people would disagree that some of my song choices are of a different genre. The label 'Indie' encompasses many different bands with many different sounds.

No doubt you'll get the moronic responses of 'lol oxymoron much?' from the musically-ignorant population TSR who aren't able to listen past what's played on the radio. North-American and Candanian Indie bands currently produce some of the best stuff I have heard for years.
