I'm a Cuckoo and Piazza New York Catcher- Belle & Sebastian
Driftwood & Flowers in the Window- Travis (okay maybe they're not indie but still they're awesome songs)
Take me Out - Franz Ferdinand
Mrs Robinson - Simon and Garfunkle
The Great Escape - We are Scientists
    Hoppipolla - Sigur Rós
Romeo & Juliet - Dire Straits

Some of these are either like 30 years old or aren't technically indie but my god they're still good.

Someone needs to learn the meaning of ''Indie''! The Kaiserchiefs kinda aren't, and lay off the Stone Roses! They're ace!

Although I do agree with you on The Smiths front...

    Mine are:
The Rumble Strips - Girls and Boys in love
    Bon Iver - Skinny Love
    The Maccabees - Toothpaste Kisses
The Stone Roses - This is the one/Waterfall
    Jose Gonzalez - Crosses
I think you completely misunderstood me ... probably becuase i forgot the comma,,,,,,,,,,,, read what i said again with a comma somewhere :p:

i was bigin' up the stone roses and the smiths as the only true good indie bands everrr . ,,,,,,,

Facepalm at the belief that "alternative" = indie.

    Animal Collective - My Girls
    Atlas Sound/Panda Bear - Walkabout
Belle and Sebastian - Lord Anthony
    Bon Iver - Creature Fear
    Deerhunter - Agoraphobia
    Deerhunter - Never Stops
Fleet Foxes - Blue Ridge Mountains
    Fleet Foxes - Your Protector
    Fruit Bats - Traveler's Song
    Panda Bear - Ponytail
    Panda Bear - Take Pills
    The Shins - Saint Simon
    The Shins - New Slang

Really this is just a broad selection of good tracks. Hard to define the "best" when so many albums (especially those of Fleet Foxes/Panda Bear/The Shins) run together so well.

..p*ss off and don't post in the thread if you don't like the subject matter.
Funnily i do like indie music. And in terms of mainstream indie my top 3 would be:

    The Killers - Mr Brightside
    MGMT - Time To Pretend
    The Strokes - Reptilia

Just, you named a top indie songs of all time post and named 3 of the worst indie songs going - all mainstream crap stuff - and your username is of a band who possess no musical talent. I don't care whether you like this stuff or not as i have friends who like some of the stuff but it's just the way you have worded the thread and as you have no musical knowledge then why the hell post a thread about it?
