I'm wanting to apply for medicine at imperial , but my ps is about 43 lines! I really can't think of what else to write, is it that big a deal if you don't use 47 lines?

No. It's not a big deal at all... use as much space as you need. Concise is good if anything

Nope, that's fine. No point in waffling if you've said all you have to say. Get it checked in the PS Helper's forum before you send it off!

How did u manage that.. its impossible!
u might aswell think of something extra (im having trouble fitting it all in) but obviously if u really dont need the space then it doesnt matter at all!

    You lucky sod.

Mine was so verbose I ended up cutting out such luxuries as paragraphs. :\

I remember a couple of my drafts were about 55 lines. That was painful to cut down.

Urgh, i had to cut about 7 lines of good stuff out of my PS, it was heartbreaking after i'd spent so long perfecting it.
If you have said everything you want in 43 lines then that's fine, it is quality not quantity that counts. Maybe get a PS helper to look it over before you submit it though.

Paragraphs are not luxuries. That was a mistake - hopefully you got away with it.

I ended up with an Oxford offer, so I suppose I did.

Although, allegedly they don't even glance at the statement.

There no problem having it slightly shorter. The reader will probably be happy to see a shorter one :P

Mine wasn't 47 lines either. It doesn't matter as long as you've got everything you need in it.

    Just think...

    why you like the subject
    Your passion for it.
    experiences
    achievements
    interests
    Your future
    (why will this help you)

those are common things that people can add to
