Would he be one of the party favourites, quite popular with the electorate (by Labour party standards, anyway) and generally well-known if he wasn't the most attractive male politician within the cabinet?

Do you think his looks come into it at all, or is it purely based on ability?

If people like yourself didn't see the need to point out he was attractive, then we would be able to judge him on his skills. Stop it.

OT; Brown is more successful (technically) and far less attractive. QED.

Modern politics is about image, would Brown be so unpopular in comparison to Cameron if Brown didn't look so tired and dull and Cameron look young and fresh? Brown would most likely be down on the polls, but not by as much in my opinion if he looked young and energetic. Likewise Menzines Campbell was sacked on image not policy, as was Ian Duncan Smith.

I wouldn't say it's because Milliband is attractive (because he's not) I'd say it's because he's younger and fresher and looks like the change the country desires, whether he would deliver that change or not.

It's really not that difficult to fulfill that criteria though, is it?

In reply to the OP, I don't think Milliband has either looks or ability on his side, particularly.
He does have youth on his side though, comparatively. And he's basically Blair all over again.
