Hey i know a thread like this exists in the archive but alot of that info could be outdated now so i just had a few questions that a current student may know and i'm sure everyone is curious.

How much is entry to the union on wednesdays/saturdays?
What is the typical price of a pint/snakebite/vodka mixer?
Does it get rammed and is it impossible to get a drink quickly once inside?
Are there 2 different rooms of music or is there just one main room?
Is it busy enough that you dont get to the point where you recognise everyone?
Do people living on campus stumble home afterwards or do they allow cabs onsite etc?
How long does it open until?
Is it for students only or do locals wonder in as it's the biggest club set up in the town?

    thanks!

£3 NUS, £5 Guest - you have to be signed in by someone with NUS

What is the typical price of a pint/snakebite/vodka mixer?

    Pint - £1.90
    Snakebite - £1.90
Vodka + Mixer - £4.00 (they only do doubles)

Beginning and end of term are the worst, you do have to queue for drinks, but you're usually served within 10-15mins.

Are there 2 different rooms of music or is there just one main room?

Cafe Mondeal is more like R&B, 3sixty is like club and dance and Mojos you can't really hear the music cus it's so loud in there.

Is it busy enough that you dont get to the point where you recognise everyone?

Yep, but you will still bump into your mates.

Do people living on campus stumble home afterwards or do they allow cabs onsite etc?

You can get a taxi, but most people walk.

How long does it open until?

3am, but I think they stop letting people in after a certain time.

Is it for students only or do locals wonder in as it's the biggest club set up in the town?

See above, guests have to be signed in. You really should get an NUS extra card.

I think it's about £6. Practuically everyone at UoR has one because of the union.

Maybe it was £6 to renew rather than to get a new one? I deffo only paid £6 for mine last year.

A white wine is £1.90 - it is really and truly FOUL wine though! I drink it sometimes when I'm feeling cheap, but it's a definite pinching-the-nose job.

Also OP - just to correct a few mistakes above - you CAN get single vodka mixers, I think they are £1.90 or £2 each. And I'm not sure it's open till 3 is it?? I thought it was 2 or sometimes half 2.

Doubles cost £3.60 last year I thought

On wednesdays you can get in for £2 if you have sports federation card which you'd need to play sports at the uni.
Also I know the price increases after a certain time I think post 10 or11pm? Can't remember what the price is then though....

I have to warn I've had nights during the year where I've had to wait for over 20mins to buy a drink

First and last union of each term is completely rammed be sure to buy a ticket in advance

    1) £3 with an NUS and £5 without
    2) £2.50
    3) before 11 yes, but not too bad after that time
    4) 3 different rooms: 360, cafe mondial and mojos
    5) yes, you dont know everyone, but you spot a lot of people you do know
    6) they allow cabs onsite
    7) it is open usually till 2am
    8) not for students only, but if non-students want in they need a student to sign them in
