    I think student finance england are still saying 6-8 week turnaround, but there's no guarantees and there not v reliable. Will be quicker if you're non-income assessed I guess

    Regardless of whether he's self employed, and how much tax he has to pay, shouldn't he still have at least some sort of paper trail? Like a self-assessed tax form?

    They've got around 8-10 weeks of backlog, I believe. So maybe before November?

    It sucks. Stupid SLC.

    Can't you apply for non-means tested so you just get loans and not grants...?
