    the intro.
Ahh, how have you managed that? I always find the intro the hardest and end up leaving it till last!

    None.

Well, when I say "none" I mean I've written 5 introductions, all of which I've discarded because I simply cannot do it. I struggle to talk about myself in a positive way; I cannot help but make the occasional popular culture reference (which will not be appreciated) and I like to have political humour.

None of which makes for an excellent personal statement.

I have started to experience severe pangs of jealousy when people talk of "cutting their personal statement down, because there's just so much to say!"

(I think reading examples of people who have travelled to x954954584 countries, helped orphans, volunteered anywhere and everywhere, and have immersed themselves in other cultures has also not helped.)

    Not much, a few ideas.

Haven't even decided for sure what to apply for yet.

    ARGH!

However long you work at it, when you look at it in a month, you'll still cringe.

I spent about two weeks working on the intro alone! I had to to make sure it wasn't cheesy, but still memorable.

i've thought of starting it, but got guests over now though so i'll concentrate on reading around my subject, economics, until about the 10th august,
hopefully with good planning it should come out alright,
most of my friends don't even know what they want to do, i know one person who is still undecided between neuroscience and classics and so hasn't done anything yet, just to let people know that knowing which subject at this stage is already quite good

If it means anything, last year I didn't start mine until about mid-late september, and I applied Oxbridge so had an early deadline too.. You don't need nearly as much time as the school seem to suggest to get it done.. It's just easier on them work wise as they have less to go through at once.
