    Hello,

Do all uni's want a C grade at maths gcse??... reason why i asked is becuase im having a rubbish time with Reading Uni about my GCSE's.. All becuase of my dysleixa.. i have mentioned to them about it but they didnt acknollage it..!
So i have given up with them and i am looking at Cumbria Uni to study.. BSc Animal Conservation Science... will Cumbria only allow people with maths gcses too?...

To get onto the course it says i need 4 C's at GCSE to include English Language.. which i have got... dose that include maths & science?. Just incase there is a hidden grade for them.

For GCSE's i got - A,B,C,C,D,D,E.. and i also did a First Diploma in Animal Care, which is an Equivilant to GCSE, and i got a Destinction Star which is classed as an A! (i think) and now i am now going into my second year... BTEC Natinal Diploma in Animal Managment, which is the A-Level equivilants. As long as i get the 240 ucas points i should be able to get into the course at cumbria. Thats correct yeah.. oh and with the personal statement and stuff???

    I hope that makes sence...

    Thanks

    Jammy.

most uni want maths to a C, others want it to a B

if the uni only asking for 4 GCSE at C to include English language then that's what it wants
most normally want English and maths at C grade at GCSE
best to have maths at C as well, your need to talk to the uni about it

Push for Reading - call them and explain. I'm sure they can understand if the reason you don't have a C is due to a condition etc.

(as i am unable to multi-quote!)
@ y2k1, okay that's cool, i dont understand why they want the GCSE's becuase surely the A Levels just rule them out?

@ Dany_777, I have been emailing reading about it, and they are just saying that i need to re-do GCSE maths & Science... when i have done an equivilant Biology GCSE and got an A for it :/.. Also i have actually found Cumbria, it looks like a better course.

@ robinson999, thanks again for the advice, i will phone them tomorow and explane my situation, and hope for the best

@ hey guysch im kl, i must say, i really do wish i was as cool as you!! :eek3:

No, not all Uni's care. I have an E in GCSE Maths due to various reasons. However i wrote a rather good personal statement, did good interviews and in the end i got 6 Unconditional Offers. Obviously it helps to have it but its not the end of the world, you just need to show off your strengths.

if you well in your Alevels or btec in your case

lets say you need DMM to get in, if you achieve higher then this you'll have nothing to worry about at all

and also if you meet the offer it should be fine
