I made my reservation for a studio in the Londonderry house: 145 per week
Hope it works out for you. Lucky if you can afford that!

    quick question,

I am German mother tongue and I am confused with the expression 1st floor. Is the 1st floor the same as ground level or ground floor? My studio is 1st floor, does this mean, there are other flats below mine or is below my flat the cellar?......please let me know. thank you very much!!!!

Don't worry it confuses me too and I'm an English native! I haven't visited there myself so hopefully someone can be of more help than me. I'd assume first floor but I know some places that say 1st floor that actually mean ground.

Yep, one up from the ground floor... But to confuse things further if you are in the USA, 1st floor means ground floor!

Further funny thing: They told me that first floor at the londonderry house means, 6 floor and the ground floor means 5 floor due to the parking facilities below....strange world in which we are living ;-)

Similar to Aston with the north and south wings. Languages floor is either floor 7 or north wing 9th floor.

Yeah it's quite funny how it works. It's a multistorey carpark with Londonderry House on top. To confuse you even more the carpark actually has entrances from two different streets at different levels to each other.

I'm lucky in that I'll be on the top floor. Easier to keep track of :p:

(At least, I THINK I'm going to be on the top floor.)

I've looked around the heights and though it feels less "new" than Curzon Gateway it is built on the same fundamental idea. I'd take a room there if I didn't go for one in Curzon (sacrificing floor space for a slightly larger bed).

If you've got the money then I don't see why you shouldn't. What's the problem?
