Am I missing something, or is all information in the TSR and this forum's stickies really tailored only towards UK nationals and not international/EU students, like yours truly, who seem to make up a respectable percentage of TSR's user base?
All I want is a bank account for which I don't have to pay monthly, and which can be used by someone who has not been ordinarily resident in the UK for 3 three years prior to commencing studies.
I'm not even asking for free overdraft (although a complimentary 5year Railcard would be nice ).
What is there available for us EU students?

This is something I'm also interested in! I guess I will go to every single bank in town to get information on my possibilities as EU national student.. But it would be great if someone could share their experience with that!

I phoned Natwest and they said I would be eligible for a student account. I will move to the UK in August and I'm Swiss. The same with HCBS - I asked them personally. They actually said that if I'm a UK student and will live here, there shouldn't be a problem.
Just ask your prefered bank I'd say.
