Just as a general idea, how widre a spectrum of choices do you get from clearing? and how fast do you have to be? is it still completely grade dependent? any other info?

Apparently this year there will be quite a demand for clearing places, so I think choice will be limited.

I think *most* unis will be in clearing for a few courses, but obv the most popular/over subscribed ones are very unlikely to be in at "decent" unis, and ones that are available will all be gone within a fortnight if not less... They do use your grades as well but usually theyre lower than the initial application ones, and i heard that they might have "phone interviews" with you too when you call them up.
But you can go through clearing until around the 21st sept so that implies there are courses available until then?
Im not completely sure myself though tbh, i jus started looking into it recently when the pessimism hit

Last year for Economics the best places were gone by the following Tuesday. So there is only a few days.

It makes sense that the best courses will be gone within a day or two because I will certainly not be going out until I have secured my place on the day. I am sure this is the same for many other people to.

Obviously if you are looking at the 'lower' uni's you will not need to be as quick in theory because there will be more places available, and demand should be lower initially until the top uni's are full.
