There is only a small percentage of first years on the forum, I really wouldn't worry. I don't think your course would be going ahead if you were the only person on it

Don't worry, MIT falls under the range of about 10 or so different computing courses at UCLan. All the first year students doing a computing course share the same first year modules (with the exception of the computer games development students who don't study systems analysis and design but study a games module instead). You'll be in the same lectures as anyone else going to study a computing course so you won't be alone. The year group is also split into about 6 different tutor groups as well so you'll also have a group of people you'll spend all of your lab sessions with.

In the second and third years there is also lots of overlap between modules (lots of the software engineering people will also do MIT modules etc) so you won't be alone then either. I've just finished my first year of computing and I'm specialising in Systems Management with some network modules next year. Hope that helps.
