That dream must have been so frustrating! I hate the ones like that but I'm so glad when I get up & it's like it was only a dream.
Then it dawns me that I still have to wait 3 weeks to actually find out what I got

Thought I'd copy the email for anyone interested:

Receipt of your examination results – What happens next?

First of all, please accept my congratulations on your conditional offer of a place at Cardiff University. We recognise that the period leading up to the release of examination results can be a stressful time for applicants and their families, and therefore my purpose in writing is to tell you how to obtain advice and guidance on what to do once you know your results.

Following the release of your results, you will be able to check the status of your application by using the UCAS on-line Applicant Enquiry Service(Track). You can access your individual record via the UCAS website, www.ucas.com, by using your application number and a unique password. This service will be available from Thursday 20 August 2009 and will be updated several times during the day.

From 3 August 2009, information about the following topics will be available on the University’s website www.cardiff.ac.uk. You will find the information by clicking on the item ‘Information for UCAS Applicants Receiving Results’ on the home page.

    - Do I need to take any action upon receipt of my results?
    - Alternative Programme Offers.
    - What do I do if my results have been delayed?
    - University contact details
    - How do I find out about Clearing opportunities at Cardiff?

That doesn't mean they have them, it's just telling you what to do on results day, isn't it? They're not saying that they have recieved your results, they're just planning for your "receipt of results."

Same, except I think I am just "meh" because it is now becoming more serious the prospects of having the next couple of years being determined by these results. The idea scares me so much that it is too much to handle so I just have 2 shut down and just think.."meh.." or my brain will blow up :p:

I'm in two minds about this. Results day can either be one of the happiest and relieving days of your life or one of the worst.
I'm currently in a conflicting state of wanting it come and not wanting it to come making the most of the time before results day.

I hope I get all A's. It will be the first time in my life when I've done a smashing job at something and it's for my own benefit.

I think I am most likely to get a B for Chemistry, a B for German, an A for Biology and an A/B for English. It's really my chemistry I cannot be certain with.

I plan to take all of them to A2 next year regardless, I just enjoy them really

hey I am not sure if this has been asked but have read it it in previous years countdown threads... when do universities get our results? because if I remember correctly.... last year some people got offered accomadation place before results day which in theory meant they had been accepted a place.

    cheers!

I remember reading on UCAS last year that it was 5 to 7 days before results day. Can't find the same info on their website this year though.

OMGSH THAT EXPLAINS IT...i had my first results day dream last night :O
i was telling mum that results day isn't all the way till 20th august then i realised my school sent a letter through the post with some stuff in it, and i realised my teacher put in some pieces of paper which had my results already on it (handwritten) and it said physics - A, biology - A, french - A, and at the top of another piece of paper it said chemistry - B and that i should put in more effort next year =[... then i realised some med schools want A in chem =[...so i got aaab ...
In my results dream 2 days ago mine were also handwritten and given to me earlier for some reason. I was disappointed with results and thinking 'perhaps these results aren't real?!', and then all of a sudden it was 20th August and I was standing at school with the results in my hand...I was like 'damn, they are real '
