:O One question, I said on my personal statement that I'll be volunteering at a Medical Health Centre during my gap year but I only found out today that I wont be able too because of my age and experience :\ is that a bad thing in regard to my places I have at Uni

If we are counting down to when we find out if we get into uni, then thats around 6 or 7 am usually, therefore, its 15 days and 19 hours!! 15 days!

Hmm I will try, if I don't, will I lose my place :s I hope I don't but that seems to be the only medical health centre in my area that does volunteering

tricky one. But i bet so many people plan stuff in advance for gap years (and put it on their personal statements) that they are unable to do during their gap year itself. If you find an alternative placement elsewhere and explain why you couldn't do the first one, i don't think they'll mind though.

EDIT: Malsy already stated my point so ignore this. :p:

i'm not sure...was it just to say youre doing a productive gap year or was it part of your offer? if the former you should be ok. ensure that you work anywhere like a care home or something so you do SOMETHING which is better than doing nothing altogether. but yeah I think you should be OK if it wasn't part of your offer as in it wasnt experience you NEEDED to get the offer?. but I think you need more advice on this. i'd post a thread to be on the safe side !

Ooh it wasn't part of the offer, it was just something I'd thought I'd do to be more productive... My UCAS advisor at college said I should make sure I got a place or there is no point on putting it down on my personal statement, thing is at that time I thought I was able to get a placement because the person seemed happy to take it on, but I just got an email saying most volunteers have had experience volunteering in Mental Health and are 2nd or 3rd years at Uni..so blah! But surely they wont ask me if I get into my Firm/Insurance what I actually did in the gap year, will they

I might do a thread or I might just repress this problem lolz

they clearly don't know about the change of plan s do they and i doubt if you get in, when you arrive you'll get a second interview asking you what you did..but ensure to do something in the gap year just in case. if it wasnt part of your offer i wouldnt worry. just ensure youre productive during the gap year!

If I could be put to sleep until the 20th I would. Each day is mind blowingly dull and I live somewhere where there is nothing to do. I can't really get any motivation going as I don't know where the Hell I'll end up (if indeed anywhere).

    Bring on results day!
