from personal experience, i found it reassuring to continue my relationship when i left for uni... even though i knew i should have ended it, allowing it to run on confirmed that it wasn't right, instead of leaving me wondering if it could have worked. also, the distance from my ex helped me put things in perspective.
on balance, i'd personally stay in the relationship, but not go to the same uni... if you can keep the relationship going even then, great! if not, then it just wasn't meant to be
