I thought for a Gold CREST Award you are given a problem and you must design a solution for it (with a wee bit of guidance), but in the Nuffield Science Bursary scheme you are working on someone else's project (in my case, a PhD student) and he just explains what he's doing and I help out with whatever I feel I can do (he's pretty trusting).
So how am I supposed to write my CREST report? Am I supposed I decided to do this, I did this etc etc if I can justify it or what

My comment is probably not helping but I've got the same problem at the moment and I'm not quite sure how to write up the report. I do reccomend however that you look for some past examples of people who have taken part in the project and if I find a link of their work I'll post it to you.

I did this and got the Gold CREST award
You write a report with the findings you guys have made and the progress. It's no different if it were your own project
I had load sof templates for how to write the reports but I recycled them all last year, dammn! Sorry
