What is so good about a student back account and how is it different to a normal one? I just have a normal one (i think) with Halifax.

    thanks

Interest free overdraft is usually the main benefit.

Generally the large, interest free overdraft.

It depends how old you are. Some people might struggle to get a 'regular' bank account with a large overdraft without any credit history. Student accounts acknowledge that we'll be getting jobs in a few years, but until then we need fairly good rates and low interest overdrafts so that we can afford to live!

To be honest, I would love to know this too.
I've heard that student accounts give better interest rates, but as for the proof?
    I have seen none!

Is overdraft the only real benefit then?? (aside from perks like discounts and stuff)

I don't plan on using my overdraft at all
